Dr. Lisa McIntire is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, refractive, and comprehensive eye care. Dr. McIntire has extensive experience in advanced vision correction procedures, including LASIK, PRK, refractive cataract surgery, corneal cross-linking, and complex corneal disease management. Throughout her career, she has served as a cornea specialist and refractive surgeon across leading practices and surgical centers in Texas and Louisiana. Dr. McIntire is also deeply involved in advancing access to eye care through innovation, education, and leadership initiatives.
Medical Education and Training
Dr. McIntire earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, after graduating summa cum laude from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiotherapy. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest University Eye Center in North Carolina, followed by an Anterior Segment Fellowship at Tulane University, where she specialized in cornea and refractive surgery. In 2019, she further expanded her leadership training through the Physician CEO Executive Education Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Accolades
Dr. McIntire is a Fellow of the World College of Refractive Surgery and has served as President of the Refractive Surgery Alliance. She is an active member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In addition to her clinical work, she has presented nationally on refractive surgery, cataract surgery, corneal imaging, ocular surface disease, and emerging surgical technologies. Her research and publications have contributed to advancements in corneal and refractive ophthalmology.
Personal Interests
Passionate about innovation and healthcare equity, Dr. McIntire is the Founder and CEO of Speck Vision and Speck Nexus, organizations focused on improving access to eye care. She also serves as adjunct faculty with the Tulane Department of Ophthalmology, where she continues to mentor and educate future ophthalmologists. Her leadership reflects a commitment not only to restoring vision, but also to expanding opportunities for patients and providers alike.
